Under The Gun’s Head of Photography, Corbin Alvae, stopped over at the Break Down The Walls Tour on March 29 in Royal Oak, MI
Feels like it’s been awhile since I last posted a new photo set, but damn do I have some great things to share. A couple weeks ago I stopped over at one of my home venues called Royal Oak Music Theatre to check out the Break Down The Walls Tour, which featured a good amount of amazing talent.
The tour kicked off with Born Of Osiris, or as some fans refer to them, BOO. The Chicago-based boys opened up the tour with some hard-hitting tracks from previous records, along with newer tracks from their latest effort, Tomorrow We Die Alone. After my three songs with them, I stuck around to catch the rest of their set, since I’ve been a fan of them for awhile and I couldn’t help but realize how heavy their bass drops are, especially when you’re standing right in front of the subwoofer.
Next up we had Crown The Empire. These fellas have always impressed me with their live performance each time I got the opportunity to photograph them live. This time though their stage show was changed up a bit with brand new scrims and drums that light up.
After CTE, hometown heroes We Came As Romans took the stage, all wearing hockey jerseys reppin’ their hometown team the Detroit Red Wings. Once again this is another group that has never disappointed me when I’ve photographed them live. Always a pleasure to photograph a solid hometown band in their home state.
After WCAR, August Burns Red went on with a light show that was just purely amazing. Props to the lighting coordinator for doing a solid job. ABR alone were just flat out perfection; lots of energy with the heavy-hitting breakdowns, amazing guitar leads and just overall a fantastic band to catch live.
Finally, our headliner, Asking Alexandria, hit the stage. I remember first seeing these guys waaaaaay back in the day when they played at one of my hometown venues called The Hayloft (which no longer exists) right around the time Stand Up And Scream was released and I just remember seeing them play in front of maybe 300 people tops. Now seeing them 6 years later live playing in front of thousands is absolutely amazing.
Overall, the Break Down The Walls Tour was yet another tour that packed the punch from start to finish, leaving fans smiling and memories of a fantastic night.
