After a 16-year run, San Francisco garage rock staples Thee Oh Sees announced, pretty much out of nowhere, that they would be going on a hiatus.
At this point, it’s pretty clear frontman John Dwyer‘s words about not playing a show for a “long while” were loose. He announced his own new band, Damaged Bug, shared some tunes, and now, a few months later, Thee Oh Sees are back with another new album.
The record, titled Drop, follows up their 2013 release Floating Coffin. It comes out on April 19 (aka Record Store Day) via Dwyer’s label Castle Face and is up for streaming in its entirety over at Pitchfork along with their interactive listening environment. Check it out here.
