Miley Cyrus Cancels Remaining ‘Bangerz’ Tour Dates Due To Extreme Allergic Reaction

The PR team for Miley Cyrus announced today that their star client has been forced to move the remaining dates of her Bangerz US tour to August in order to properly recover from a recent allergic reaction that landed the “We Can’t Stop” singer in the hospital earlier this month.

According to The Associated Press, Cyrus has been dealing with health problems for the majority of the month. She was initially hospitalized on April 5, which resulted in the cancellation of two performances, but here we are more than a week later and it seems the young starlet has yet to feel better. She will resume the U.S. tour Aug. 1 in Uniondale, N.Y. The new dates will include seven rescheduled shows and two additional stops.

“Miley was suffering from a sinus infection during her tour,” said an official statement that Cyrus posted to Twitter on Thursday. “She was prescribed the antibiotic Cephalexin which she’s now suffered an allergic reaction to. This type of extreme reaction can last from five to 27 days in these types of cases. She will remain hospitalized and is under a doctor’s care until we see some improvement in her condition and is asking for your compassion and privacy at this time. Miley is devastated about missing shows and possibly disappointing her fans.”

We caught Miley’s tour when she stopped in Boston earlier this month. It was…Awkward.

There are people who seem to think our negative review of the singer’s recent tour is our way of protesting her very existence, but nothing could be further from the truth. We love Miley and we enjoy Bangerz a great deal. When she’s feeling better we hope to see her again, and who knows? That opportunity might present itself in August.

Miley’s latest album, Bangerz, is available now wherever music is sold.
