We have spoken about Chicago rapper Taylor Bennett in the past, but he’s still unknown to a large portion of our readership. He’s the brother of Chance The Rapper, but more importantly he has a gift of wordplay and style entirely his own that is showcased perfectly on his new track “Hope.”
Backed by speaker-rattling production from Monte Booker that is as interesting as the lyrics it accompanies, “Hope” finds Taylor returning to the spotlight with a quick-tongued highlight from his upcoming Mainstream Music mixtape. He touches on everything from his love of the mainstream, to his goals in the game, the things he needs (spoiler: it’s hope), and the beauty that can be found in the chaos of it all. You can stream the track below:
This is the third Mainstream Music track to surface thus far and we are already convinced it will be one of the most talked about hip-hop releases of the year. The scheduled release date is May 4 and you can bet your ass we will have a full stream/download live as soon as such media is made available. For now, follow Taylor on Twitter and watch for updates on his future plans.
