Danny Boyle and Leonardo DiCaprio Circling Steve Jobs Biopic

After negotiations with David Fincher fell through last week, Sony Pictures is moving quickly to find a director for their Steve Jobs movie and THR reports the studio has already begun speaking with Danny Boyle about taking over the gig. And while Fincher was determined to land Christian Bale for the leading role, Boyle is said to have already approached Leonardo DiCaprio for the part. The pairing would represent a reunion of sorts, as Boyle and DiCaprio worked together 14 years ago on The Beach.

Not to be confused with the Ashton Kutcher-led Jobs, which was released last year to little fanfare, Sony’s Steve Jobs film was penned by Aaron Sorkin (The Social Network). The screenwriter has said his script boils Jobs’ life down to just three scenes, all of which take place in real time leading up to the launch of a new product. Stick around, as we’ll be sure to keep you up-to-date as the story develops.
