Tom Morello, Page Hamilton, and More Set To Appear On Linkin Park’s New Album

Linkin Park

Aside from remixes and the mashup album Collision Course, their collaborative effort with Jay Z, Linkin Park have always been a band who kept to themselves. While others rushed to lock in a major guest appearance to help boost press, the members of Linkin Park worked on pushing their sound in new directions and exploring how they could further their imprint on music as a whole. With their new album it seems LP are ready to once again try something new, and this time that includes bringing a few familiar faces into their creative space.

According to press notes released alongside the official track listing reveal for Linkin Park’s upcoming album, The Hunting Party will feature guest appearances from Rage Against The Machine’s Tom Morello, Helmet’s Page Hamilton and System Of A Down’s Daron Malakian, in addition to rapper Rakim’s guest spot on the single “Guilty All The Same”. You can stream that single below.

Speaking with reporters in New Zealand recently, LP member Chester Bennington commented on the features by replying, “We’ve collaborated with people for the first time, which was inspiring…When we got Page in, Mike [Shinoda] had written this chorus and sang it, and his voice had this tone, and it was unlike anything I’d heard from him before. And I was like, ‘Dude, this is crazy, this sounds like a HELMET song! It’s cool!’ And we were like, ‘Dude, why don’t we see if we can get like Page in here?’ You know? And if that’s why the song says it’s feeling like it should be, then why don’t we just go straight to the source.”

The Hunting Party is scheduled for release June 17. Expect plenty of tour dates, as well as additional album details, to be revealed in the weeks ahead.
