Dikembe Announce Sophomore Album, ‘Mediumship’

Tiny Engines is on a roll this year. The North Carolina-based label’s 2014 catalog already includes The Hotelier’s Home, Like Noplace Is There, a personal favorite of many UTG staffers, as well as excellent releases from Somos, Cayetana, and more. Today, the label announced another record that will be vying for the top spot on many end-of-the-year lists. That album is Mediumship, the sophomore LP from Florida emo rockers Dikembe.

For a little more insight into Mediumship, which is due out sometime this summer, you can check out the artwork, tracklist, and a teaser video after the break. The video includes a clip of a new song that sounds like a smoother, more nuanced version of the band’s 2012 full-length, Broad Shoulders. Pre-orders aren’t live yet, but you can sign up to be notified when the album is on sale at the Tiny Engines store.

Mediumship isn’t the only record Dikembe have planned for 2014. They will also be releasing a split 7″ with The Jazz June, which you can order right here.
