Miss May I Confirm A Fan Passed Away At Their Show This Weekend

When you go to a metal concert there is always the possibility of someone getting hurt. Moshing, crowdsurfing, stage diving: all of those things are dangerous. When you get a whole bunch of energized fans doing all of these things it can create a potentially dangerous situation. We hate to hear of anyone getting injured, and even worse, dying at a show. Unfortunately for one young man’s family, the latter has just become a reality.

Alterto Scott, an attendee to Miss May I‘s show in New York this past Saturday, lost his life after an unknown injury took place. There has been a lot of speculation by people who were also in attendance at the show, but nothing has officially been confirmed.

The band has officially made a statement on the situation, and asked that fans donate to a Go Fund Me campaign launched by friends and family of Alberto. You can read their statement and find a link to the campaign below the jump.

As many of you will have heard, Alberto Scott, a Miss May I fan in attendance at our Webster Hall show on Saturday night tragically died. We were deeply shocked and saddened to hear this news. We are awaiting a full report from the New York Police Department. In the meantime, we’d ask that all your thoughts and prayers be with his family. We have been made aware of a webpage that is raising funds to help pay for his funeral costs. We will be making a contribution and we’d strongly urge others to do so- http://www.gofundme.com/8vjoqc
