Celebrating Cinco De Mayo with the gift of free music, 2 Chainz shut down the urban music scene last night when his long-awaited Freebase EP finally hit the net. The seven-track release features guest spots from A$AP Rocky, Rick Ross, Ty Dolla Sign, Lil Boosie, and Cap 1, alongside production from Mike WiLL Made It, Metro Boomin, C-Note, 808 Mafia, and more. 2 Chainz has blessed the music world with a new album each year since 2012, and later this year he will continue that trend with the fall release of B.O.A.T.S. III. This release does not fall in line with the material found on those albums, but instead offers a more aggressive and boastful side of Tauheed Epps (which is really saying something when you’re talking about 2 Chainz). There are also a number of film samples littered throughout the mix, including a fantastic use of Step Brothers‘ infamous job interview sequence.

It is rare that more than a week passes without a new 2 Chainz headline making the rounds online, so we expect to hear more about B.O.A.T.S. III soon. Until then, Freebase should keep the party moving just fine.
