Yesterday, we ran news regarding details about the new Shabazz Palaces‘ album, Lese Majesty.
Well, late last night, the group posted its first track from the new full-length, “They Come in Gold,” via the Sub Pop Soundcloud Page.
The track starts out with a real forceful trap beat and some intense synth work that is just enough to get you convinced and excited, when all of a sudden it slows down, and becomes this dreamy rap anthem. The rapping is top notch as expected but before you know it, it’s been a short three minutes and it phases out, literally.
Whether or not this song is a good representation of what else we have to look forward with Lese Majesty or not, it’s intriguing and different enough that we have to believe the group when they say it sounds nothing like the 2011 Black Up.
Check out the track for yourself and let us know what you think. And be sure to preorder the album for its July 29th release.
