‘Neighbors’ Moves Into Crowded Box Office

The star power possessed by Zac Efron and Seth Rogen is undeniable, but even with that considered, there are few who could say that they’ve foreseen the commercial success of Neighbors this weekend. According to studio estimates, the comedy has made over $51 million since Friday and greatly surpasses the expected pull of $35 million. In the process, last weekend’s top dog, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 got knocked down a spot and went from making $95 million in its initial release to $37.2 million this weekend.

Other films that premiered this week have included the likes of Mom’s Night Out, which made $4.2 million, and Legends of Oz: Dorothy’s Return, which made $3.7 million.
