The Dear Hunter Frontman Casey Crescenzo To Release Debut Symphony In June

There was a time in 2013 when Casey Crescenzo, frontman for The Dear Hunter, turned to his longtime fans and supporters with a request. Though he had spent the past decade making music professionally, Crescenzo needed a little extra financial support from followers in order to make his wildest musical ambition a reality. Funds came in, thanks were given, and in the fall of 2013 Crescenzo’s first symphony was performed. Next month, that same symphony is being released on vinyl/cd/digital, and today we got all the packaging details.

Amour & Attrition will be released on June 3, with a CD/vinyl release following several weeks later on June 24. Pre-orders for the album, including a package deal with all three release methods, are available now on Crescenzo’s official merch store. You can stream an excerpt from the piece below:

“Mikel Toms, the conductor of the Brno orchestra, is definitely owed a deep amount of gratitude from me for making this a reality,” shares Crescenzo. “He assisted me in every step, from scheduling, reviewing my scores, and so much more. He also really took the time to understand the motive of the music, and it
shows in the recording.”

He continues, “While I do feel a great sense of accomplishment, I know that it wouldn’t have been remotely possible without the incredible help, and encouragement, from the community of people who supported this project. The best way I could show my appreciation was by pouring myself into the symphony and creating something we could all be proud to say we were a part of. I am ecstatic for people to hear Amour & Attrition.”

The symphony will be self-released through Cave & Canary Goods, which is Crescenzo’s personal imprint label within Equal Vision Records.
