Nine months have passed since Odd Future member Earl Sweatshirt released his long-awaited debut album, and in that time the young rapper has graced the front page or cover of every notable music magazine from here to Bangkok. The one thing he hasn’t done, however, is announce when fans can expect new material. Today we have a little something special to share, but those wanting truly new stuff will have to wait a bit longer to hear what Earl develops next.

A new remix of Earl’s “Chum” single found its way online this afternoon through Sweatshirt’s official Soundcloud. The track, which was remixed by fellow OFWGKTA member Left Brain, has been given a slight boost of energy and additional percussion to round out its otherwise minimalist sound. You can stream and download the track, in full, at the end of this post.

Odd Future were announced today as the opening act for Eminem’s recently revealed Wembley Stadium gig planned for later this year. Tyler, The Creator posted a video announcement regarding the development, which Sweatshirt also happens to make an appearance in. You can view the clip here.

We are hopeful the world will hear truly new music from Earl Sweatshirt before the year is out, but right now we do not know if that will happen. Follow UTG on Twitter for updates.
