Latest ‘Transformers’ Trailer Is Everything You Could Ask For In A Summer Blockbuster

Say what you will about Michael Bay and his Transformers series, but when it comes to big budget summer action no franchise has been more consistent in delivering mind-boggling visuals wrapped around razor thin plots than the adventures of Optimus Prime and the people who aide him in connecting with residents of Earth. The latest entry, Age Of Extinction, looks to up the ante in every way, including the addition of Mr. Pain & Gain, Mark Wahlberg.

Early this morning a new trailer for Transformers: Age Of Extinction debuted online following a week of heavy promotion. The clip features almost a minute of new footage, including new plot details and plenty of over-the-top robotic violence. There’s even a clip of Optimus Prime riding a Dinobot into battle with his sword drawn and ready for war. That’s not a joke or exaggeration in the slightest, and it might not even be the most insane thing we see (but it is damn close). You can view the new trailer below:

There is no denying that the amount of love you have for this trailer is going to be directly proportional to your tolerance for Bay’s love of contrast-heavy, violence fueled, digitally created violence. If that appeals to you like it does to me, then the clip above likely left you bouncing up and down in your office chair as if you were a child learning Santa Claus was actually real. We have seen Bay and company deliver a lot of crazy things in this franchise, but they have clearly found a way to spread the insanity across the board.

Transformers: Age of Extinction will be released on June 27.
