Latest ‘Interstellar’ Trailer Demands Best Picture Consideration

Oh, Christopher Nolan. When the rest of Hollywood begins to let us down I am confident you will continue to push the envelope of possibility and imagination, and that seems to be exactly what you have done with your latest work of potential cinematic glory.

When Interstellar was initially teased we knew almost nothing about what would happen in Nolan’s first feature since wrapping the Dark Knight trilogy, but we had an idea that it had something to do with space. In the trailer released today we learn that space is the answer to a question many refuse to ask because doing so usually results in people having even more questions: What happens when the Earth can no longer support human life?

Though it seems that a lot of the plot is still being kept at bay, the latest look at Interstellar tells us Matthew McConaughey is one of a handful of people who have been chosen to try and save mankind through an adventure in outer space. The details of his mission remain unclear, but the gravity of the situation on Earth is clear (and a bit depressing). You can view the latest trailer below:

Interstellar opens nationwide on November 7. It’s far too early to know whether or not this film has a chance at an Oscar, but considering the cast and crew involved I think it’s very likely we will see a slew of nominations thrown at Interstellar when awards season begins in December. Stay tuned for additional footage in the months ahead.
