‘Godzilla’ Demolishes The Charts

Featuring both sheer power and star power, Godzilla towered high above expectations this past weekend. The reboot had a strong start on Friday when it opened to $38.5 million, thus breaking the record for the biggest opening day of 2014. On a grander scale, studio estimates have shown that when the dust settles, the blockbuster’s 3-day pull will be in the ballpark of $93.2 million dollars.

Speaking of ballparks, the other addition to this weekend’s list was Disney’s latest film, Million Dollar Arm. The Jon Hamm led film made about $10.5 million, which isn’t all that bad when its $25 million dollar budget is taken into consideration.
