Miley Cyrus has been making headlines on her ‘Bangerz’ tour for all sorts of reasons: getting pelted with bras, crying over her dead dog, singing with The Flaming Lips’ Wayne Coyne, and, thankfully, a slew of classic covers. Joining the list of songs she’s performed live on this round is now The Smiths‘ staple “There Is a Light That Never Goes Out.”
As expected, Cyrus’ smoky voice paired well with the 1986 classic, although her constant hip swaying and decision to hold out a smartphone the whole time may make it hard to take her emotional weight seriously. Regardless, the cut from The Queen Is Dead was done pretty well.
