UTG VIDEO PREMIERE: Bad Cop / Bad Cop – “My Life”

Under The Gun Review is pleased to announce that we are premiering Bad Cop / Bad Cop’s new video for “My Life.” The music video arrived in perfect time to coincide with this weekend’s Punk Rock Bowling Festival in Las Vegas. If you’ll be at one of the punkest festivals of the year, it would be wise to stop by and check them out.

“The song is about being who you are and not apologizing for it. And being comfortable with it more than anything else, which is something we as older women have the advantage of over our younger selves,” says Jennie Cotterill, one of the two guitarists/vocalists.

According to Fat Wreck Chords, this track most accurately portrays the band’s mission statement, so we are very pleased to be the first ones to share this video with the world. It can be found on the band’s 7″ Boss Lady that was released in early April.

“It feels very strange and kind of huge,” says Jennie while discussing joining the Fat Wreck roster. “I, like many other people my age, have a very special place in my teenage heart for Fat Wreck Chords. It’s definitely something I never thought would happen and is very validating and encouraging. This has never been something that anybody ever was like, ‘Yeah! You should pursue that!'”

That being said, it’s a good thing that the girls did pursue it. On Monday, the band will be playing amongst some of the greats of punk rock, including NOFX, Against Me!, Leftover Crack, OFF! and more.

“We’re totally pumped and kind of terrified too. It’s definitely going to be the tallest stage we’ve ever been on. Oh, yeah, I literally cried when I saw Against Me! after Laura, became Laura. To be like two sets before that is amazing, it’s stuff I’d never thought would happen, so it’s really exciting.”

Bad Cop / Bad Cop are currently working on a writing a full-length album and hope to record after returning from Europe in September, where the band will be touring for three weeks and playing some gigs with Masked Intruder.

“It’s pretty cool. More stuff we never thought would happen, we all had to get passports!”
