Yasiin Bey Cancels U.S. Tour Due to Reentry Denial

The rapper Yasiin Bey, formally known as Mos Def, has been forced to cancel his U.S. tour, according to Together Boston. It’s reported that he has been denied the ability to re-enter the United States, which was due to certain immigration/legal issues. Further details have not yet surfaced.

This all takes place after the rapper moved to South Africa in 2013.

In an interview with Mail & Guardian, he said that Cape Town was “crazy.” He also talked about why he left. “Man, I’m going to tell you something. For a guy like me, with five or six generations from the same town in America, to leave America, things gotta be not so good with America.”

Refunds for any of his shows will be available at point of purchase. Also no word on any rescheduling information.

We’ll see what is to come as more details will surely surface. Stay tuned to UTG for any updates.
