Queen to Release New Album With Unheard Freddie Mercury Songs

There seems to be quite a bit of music coming from the grave these days. Queen have just announced that a new posthumous album will come out before the end of this year that features unreleased songs sung by Freddie Mercury.

In an interview with BBC Radio, guitarist Brian May said that the compilation would likely be titled Queen Forever and will include material from the 1980s. “It is quite emotional,” he said. “It is the big, big ballads and the big, big epic sound.” He and bandmate Roger Taylor are taking care of the restoration process themselves on this album, starting with scraps and moving forward with modern technology to make the material sound as it should by “knowing how it would have happened if we had finished it.” Unreleased collaborations between Mercury and Michael Jackson are also possibly lined up to be released, although it may not be a part of Queen Forever.

Additionally, for the first time in almost a decade, the two will tour with Adam Lambert for Queen’s first full North American tour. See the list of dates below: Queen with Adam Lambert 2014 Tour Dates:
