A week ago to the day, Conor Oberst released his new album Upside Down Mountain via Nonesuch. We’ve already heard some of that material live when he stopped by The Tonight Show, but now we get to hear a bit more. Oberst dropped by CBS This Morning over the weekend to play a few of the songs off the album: “Time Forgot,” “Hundreds Of Ways,” and “You Are Your Mother’s Child.”

If things look more familiar than usual, you’ve got good vision. Once again, Oberst is backed by Dawes. Earlier this year, Oberst and Dawes teamed up to release a split 7″ for Record Store Day and have shared numerous festival bills prior to that; it looks like a sensible, long-time-coming friendship, if that.
