Wovenwar (Ex-As I Lay Dying) Announce First U.S. Tour

This is technically an announcement for a summer run of Black Label Society tour dates, since, well, they’re technically the headliners. Technically.

But that’s hardly the news here. The big item of discussion is that one of the tour’s openers (the other being Kyng) is Wovenwar, the new band featuring 80% of As I Lay Dying joined by a new frontman in the form of Shane Blay (also of Oh, Sleeper).

As of right now, these dates will mark the band’s first shows, with their debut album set to hit stores this summer through Metal Blade Records. I must say, Black Label Society is not the first band I expected Wovenwar to hit the road with. And I can only imagine a mass exodus of curious fans leaving the venue after Wovenwar’s set, but you know, whatever sells tickets, right?

To date, the band has released their first single “All Rise” and a slew of teasers and webisodes. If you’re not already excited enough, you can catch a brand new studio update (along with those tour dates) after the jump.
