HBO Releases Teaser For Dave Grohl Series ‘Sonic Highways’

Last month, HBO revealed plans to debut a new series hosted by Foo Fighters’ frontman Dave Grohl that would find the rock icon traveling the country to visit various recording studios and interview the people behind some of the world’s most influential music. Today, we get our first look at just what the series will entail.

Foo Fighters Sonic Highways has no release date at this time, but in the teaser released this morning fans learn a bit more about what they can expect from the series. The show will serve as a companion piece to Grohl’s critically-acclaimed Sound City documentary and over the course of several episodes will follow the members of Foo Fighters as they record their eighth studio album in various cities across the nation. The clip only lasts twenty seconds, but that is more than enough time to make you hunger for more:

Considering that most rumors claim Foo Fighters will release their new album in the fall, it’s likely Sonic Highways will premiere around the same time. Grohl has commented to press in recent weeks that he already has ‘crazy’ plans for the album’s release, but at this time we can only imagine what those comments might mean.
