Senses Fail Announce ‘Let It Enfold You’ 10th Anniversary Tour, Despite Past Claims

In April of last year, we interviewed Buddy Nielsen of Senses Fail, and when asked whether or not the band would celebrate their debut full-length, Let It Enfold You, with a 10th anniversary tour, his response was this:

“No, at this point we have no desire to live in the past and celebrate that record. We are focused on the future of the band. Maybe at a point in time in the future we will do something to celebrate that record but as for right now, no. I can say that we will 100% not be doing a tour around it. If we ever did anything it would be a show or two. It would be very hard to get up there every night and play 13 songs that we just aren’t that passionate about.”

You can imagine our surprise when the band announced that they’d be doing the very thing that Nielsen so confidently confirmed they would not. They’ve had a year to reconsider, so we’ll be looking forward to revisiting this album live and hope that the passion came back to make for an exciting set of shows. Kicking off on September 3 in San Diego, Senses Fail will be playing the 2004 effort in full with support from No Bragging Rights and Knuckle Puck. Chris Hornbrook of Poison The Well will be drumming for SF in place of founding drummer Dan Trapp who recently parted ways with the band. You can buy pre-sale tickets now. All pre-sale proceeds will go to The Best Friend Animal Society.

After the jump you can find the full list of dates for the tour along with Nielsen’s recent change-of-heart statement about the record they’ll be celebrating.

I am humbled and excited to be able to play these songs, some which have never been played live. I look forward to reliving moments in my life with a room of people who are doing the same.

I have spent the better part of my life pursuing a dream and now, purposely, to look back and clearly be able to see the peaks and valleys, the difficult personal times, the relational sacrifices that were made, as well as the joy, excitement, youthful ignorance that was painfully present at times. It is all very outstandingly grounding and fills me with equal parts nostalgic joy and gratitude for everyone that has shared in this band, past present and future, band member or business partner. We were all very young when we wrote and recorded this record in a half recording studio, half go go bar, run by the Russian Mob in Dover, NJ. None of us could have imagined the places it would take us, to now retrace those steps back in time, is a little frightening but more so exciting. I have very fond memories of the journey that was started with the record and I truly have deep love for everyone that was involved. All of us have gone separate ways but we will still forever share a bond, a record that has its own life and will stay unchanged for the rest of time.

We are also very, very stoked to announce that Chris Hornbrook (Poison The Well) will be jumping behind the drums and lending his talents to Senses Fail. We couldn’t be more pleased to have such a wonderful drummer replace our very dear and close friend Dan. We wish him the best of luck and happiness in his future pursuits and in his life.
