Lana Del Rey Streams “Ultraviolence”

With less than two weeks to go until her second full length album arrives in stores, Lana Del Rey is keeping excitement high by sharing a stream of the record’s title track with fans worldwide.

“Ultraviolence” was one of the first songs off the album of the same name to make its live debut on Lana Del Rey’s 2014 tour, but for one reason or another the songstress chose to keep the studio version of the track under wraps until today. The song plays like a typical Lana ballad, brooding with melancholy themes before building to a gorgeous and atmospheric hook that is awash with LDR’s signature croon. You can stream the track below:

This is by far the slowest song to debut off Ultraviolence, but it still plays well with the sonic feel of “West Coast” and “Shades Of Cool.” I think this is my least favorite of the three tracks we have heard thus far, but if this is as bad as the album gets I find it hard to imagine there will be much to complain about when Ultraviolence arrives in stores June 17.

A fourth song off Ultraviolence, titled “Brooklyn Baby,” is expected to surface in the coming days. Stay tuned.

“Shades Of Cool” is still my least favorite. This song isn’t AS repetitive or boring to me.
