‘Very Good Girls’ Trailer: Elizabeth Olsen and Dakota Fanning Fall For The Same Guy

Hollywood likes to make casual sex in your twenties look like fun and games, but in the upcoming film Very Good Girls two of the silver screen’s brightest young stars realize that romance is nothing like what you see in the movies.

Elizabeth Olsen and Dakota Fanning star in the coming-of-age drama Very Good Girls, which originally premiered at Sundance in 2013. The plot follows best friends Gerry (Olsen) and Lily (Fanning), two recent high school graduates who make a pact to lose their virginity before leaving for college in the fall. Things get complicated, however, when the two unknowingly fall for the same street artist (played by Boyd Holbrook). Demi Moore, Peter Sarsgaard, Richard Dreyfuss, Clark Gregg, Kiernan Shipka and Ellen Barkin co-star. You can view the film’s first trailer below:

Naomi Foner, real-life mother of Jake and Maggie Gyllenhaal, wrote and directed Very Good Girls. It is her first film, as well as the first on screen collaboration between Olsen and Fanning. I hope it is not their last.

Very Good Girls hits VOD June 24 and will receive a limited theatrical run beginning July 25.
