UTG PHOTOS: Morning Parade (5/20/14)

Under The Gun sent photographer, Nick Karp, to Webster Hall Studio in New York on May 20, 2014.

You may have heard them on Sirius’ Alt Nation, but in case you haven’t yet, you will be familiarized with Morning Parade in the very near future. The band uniquely blends indie rock with today’s pop, which creates a fresh auditory experience at their live show. Despite being from across the pond, Morning Parade managed to draw a solid crowd on a weeknight in New York City.

Opening the show was Basic Vacation who will most likely explode within the next year. Seeing them at Webster Hall (a 400-cap room) does not do the band justice. Their sound is destined for bigger and better rooms.

Directly supporting them on the tour were Asbury Park’s own Brick + Mortar. They are everything I ever wanted in a live band. If they perform remotely close to your town, it must be an obligation to attend. Brick + Mortar’s stage presence was outlandish and hysterical, while still maintaining the musical abilities to make you want more.
