Train Return With “Angel In Blue Jeans”

Train are gearing up to release a new studio album later this year, and earlier today they shared a brand new single titled “Angel In Blue Jeans.”

At this point it’s safe to say the members of Train could write about anything and people would be willing to listen, but their bread and butter will always be love and the girls who got away. With that in mind, the band has played it safe on “Angel In Blue Jeans,” offering a catchy-yet-familiar sounding tale of being shut down by the woman who stole your heart backed by music that finds a balance between county and pop. You can stream the song below:

I would like to think radio fans won’t give this track the time of day, but it has that steady bass line that all top 40 demands, so it’s entirely possible “Angel In Blue Jeans” could begin a slow ascent to the top of the charts in no time at all. I, for one, believe Train have and will hopefully continue to write songs that are far more memorable than this, but I do applaud them for trying to bring a western-inspired sound to the world of modern pop.

Train’s upcoming seventh studio album, Bulletproof Picasso, will be released on September 16.
