Pete Wentz Relaunches Decaydance Records As DCD2

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz has announced that he is relaunching and expanding his record label Decaydance as DCD2 Records.

Wentz originally launched Decaydance in 2005 as an imprint of Fueled By Ramen. The DCD2 roster includes previous Decaydance artists Fall Out Boy, Panic! At The Disco, Cobra Starship and Travie McCoy/Gym Class Heroes. Joining these artists will be Lolo and New Politics. Lolo will be the first on the label to release new music. Wentz mentioned in the interview that there also will be an announcement from Cobra Starship shortly after.

the idea behind the label originally was a gang, something that would be us versus the world… i took a few years off the same time the band did but i didnt stop listening to new music… i always felt like it was my responsibility to nurture and magnify the profile of other artists… today we begin doing that again. today i want to announce DCD2- this is the next chapter, the renaissance, and i’d like to welcome New Politics and LOLO to the family. i feel like i have more time to devote to this again and the state of music is so exciting right now. though we are launching this independently we are open to working with people who are dedicated, passionate and interested in finding new ways to operate. stay tuned for more announcements coming soon.

welcome to decade 2. DCD2.
