’22 Jump Street’ Wins Box Office Sequels Duel

Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill have been no stranger to box office success, and even together, they pack quite the punch. After having a #1 $36.2 million dollar weekend debut with 21 Jump Street in 2012, they’ve followed up by topping the chart yet again with 22 Jump Street.

The buddy cop comedy made $60 million this weekend, putting itself ahead of this weekend’s other new film, How To Train Your Dragon 2, which pulled in $50 million. Further behind that would come Maleficent, which has had quite the performance in the past two weeks.
