Comeback records are always a surprise when they are announced. The latest one comes as no exception. This time around, punk superstar Billy Idol is back.
The man has followed a pattern of spacing his albums out dramatically over long periods of time, especially since his last proper release, Devil’s Playground, which was released in 2005. That was also followed by a Christmas album in 2006, aptly titled Happy Holidays, but this will be the latest original material in nearly a decade and serve as his eighth full-length effort.
At 58 years young, Idol will release the as-yet-untitled full-length tentatively in October, with a single release sometime later this summer. He is also releasing a memoir, entitled Dancing With Myself, on October 7. So it should be a year packed full of Billy Idol.
As always, any news regarding new tracks by the Idol will be covered on UTG, so stay tuned. Check out an older track, “Dancing With Myself,” below.
