Busdriver, a west coast emcee with rapid-fire verses and fantastic references, is dropping a new record on September 9. It’s called Perfect Hair, it’s coming out on Big Dada, and it’s probably going to be great.
The first cut is the Jeremiah Jae-produced “Ego Death,” and he’s enlisted Danny Brown (“the rap Marilyn Manson”) and Aesop Rock to add some extra personality to a six-minute track that goes deep with an ominous stomp.
This is nothing new for Busdriver, who first caught my ear with an even better track for which he also brought in two guests. One of those guys, Open Mike Eagle, will also guest on Perfect Hair, along with P.O.S, Del the Funky Homosapien, Pegasus Warning, and VerBS.
Listen to “Ego Death” below. Pre-order Perfect Hair here, where Big Dada introduces it with “What would Gravity’s Rainbow sound like as a rap album?”
