Melt Your Brain With OK Go’s Latest Music Video, “The Writing’s on the Wall”

OK Go are irrefutably masters of their trade. Aside from possessing the ability to string together a radio-ready hook in the blink of an eye, the Chicago four-piece have also found a unique way to market themselves in the form of exceptionally creative, low-budget music videos. Take for example the outfit’s breakout single, “Here It Goes Again,” which found the group performing some complex choreography atop a row of running treadmills. Back in 2006, the 3-minute clip went viral, and brought with it global recognition. Though I find it hard to believe that there are individuals out there who don’t remember this one-of-a-kind performance, you can revisit below, if need be:

Since this initial offering, OK Go have effectively outdone themselves on multiple occasions, and today, the band continued to raise the bar by debuting a new video for their single “The Writing’s on the Wall,” taken from their forthcoming LP, Hungry Ghosts. True to form, the clip is candy for the eyes, and follows the group around a Brooklyn lot as they attempt to fry your retinas with some absolutely jaw-dropping optical illusions. Check it out here:

Ridiculous imagery aside, let’s not overlook the fact that “The Writing’s on the Wall” is super catchy and seems destined for repeat listens. If you’re a fan, there’s still time to pre-order Hungry Ghosts before it hits shelves this October.
