Final ‘Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes’ Trailer: War Has Begun

The final trailer for Dawn Of The Planet of The Apes has been released, and it just might be the greatest thing you see all week long.

By this point you are no doubt familiar with the plot of Dawn, at least to an extent. Several years have passed since the events in Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes, and mankind has slowly fallen to pieces. Our cities are demolished, electricity is rare, and the future is beginning to feel a lot more bleak than we ever feared it may be. There’s also the apes, who have set up their own communities deep in the forests of northern California. When these two cultures collide, war soon ensues. You can view the latest footage below:

I think most fans of the first film were on board with this sequel from the get-go, but I find it hard to imagine anyone walking away from this trailer thinking that any other summer blockbuster will be as wild and epic as Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes. Sure, Guardians Of The Galaxy looks cool, but does it have apes duel-wielding automatic weapons while riding bareback on wild horses? No, no it does not.

Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes opens July 11.
