New ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ Trailer: Shredder Is Alive And Well

A second trailer for the upcoming reboot of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has found its way online in advance of the film’s August 8 release.

When the first Turtles trailer dropped back in the spring, I am relatively sure it took all of five minutes for the internet to see it and lose its collective shit. The creatures many had grown to love and cherish in the 1990s had changed, and in many people’s minds those changes were not for the better. I am not sure the latest trailer will go a long way towards changing anyone’s minds, but if you go in willing to accept a new version of a familiar story you will likely find plenty to love, especially if you’re a fan of explosions and sharp things. You can view the footage below:

Plot synopsis:

The city needs heroes. Darkness has settled over New York City as Shredder and his evil Foot Clan have an iron grip on everything from the police to the politicians. The future is grim until four unlikely outcast brothers rise from the sewers and discover their destiny as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The Turtles must work with fearless reporter April and her wise-cracking cameraman Vern Fenwick to save the city and unravel Shredder’s diabolical plan.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles opens August 8.
