Charli XCX Announces North American Tour

Oh, Charli. The should-be pop star – for now only a “pop ingenue” or “pop singer” in articles – seems destined to only get tastes of the limelight while featuring on the hits of others. First came “I Love It,” which was fine – that song is fantastic, and Icona Pop is pretty great. The latest instance is more disappointing. She is by far the best part on the problematic summer hit “Fancy,” yet it’s Iggy Azalea who gets all the shine. I’m almost as bitter about this as “We Are Young” being Janelle Monáe’s biggest hit to date.

Let’s not dwell on all that, though – Iggy already gets enough attention. Charli XCX has a North American tour slated for September and October, and that’s some pretty great news. Elliphant and UTG favorite FEMME are on as support. The tour starts on the East Coast before zigzagging to the Midwest, deep south, and far west. Twenty dates in thirty days (plus another in Portland two days later) – see if any of them are close to you below. A ticket bundle is available and includes a tour poster and a signed “Boom Clap” vinyl 7″ from Neon Gold.

For a reminder of how great Charli XCX is, revisit “Boom Clap” from The Fault In Our Stars‘ soundtrack, “Superlove” off a yet-to-be-announced album, and her covers of “Allergic to Love” and “I Want Candy.”
