Fox’s iconic franchise about our favorite bunch of gun-toting apes has dominated the box office this weekend. The summer blockbuster is poised to make an expected $73 million dollars, far surpassing Rentrak’s projected $60 million dollar pull.
Transformers: Age of Extinction has been released for nearly 2 and a half weeks now and is still performing strongly, thus earning itself $16.5 million this week and a second place position on domestic charts. Much further below on the charts comes Mark Ruffalo and Keira Knightly’s Begin Again, which recently went into expanded release and fell shy of $3 million.
