Rick Ross Comments On Meek Mill’s Incarceration

The rap world is still recovering from last week’s news that Maybach Music Group member Meek Mill will be spending the next 3-6 months in jail for violating his parole. Mill, whose been on parole since 2008, was finishing a five-year probationary period when he was brought in by investigators for what several sites are describing as ‘concerning behavior.’ The rapper has yet to make a comment.

Rick Ross has never been one to keep quiet when news breaks, and though Meek Mill may be quiet his MMG boss is speaking up for him. “His album is coming,” Ross told MTV News in a statement on July 12. “We ask that the fans and the media continue to support him and his music during this time. He’ll be home soon. ‘Dreams Are Worth More Than Money,’ and family is worth more than Everything. MMG FOR LIFE.”

Mill’s sophomore studio album, Dreams Are Worth More Than Money, was recently given an early September release date. Many sites thought Mill’s incarceration would cause the album to be delayed, but it seems like things are moving forward as planned. Ross says he’ll continue to support Mill through his ongoing legal troubles.

“I created MMG years ago, my desire was to create a space where the most talented artists in the world could be nurtured and supported,” he told MTV. “With that came a commitment. I vowed to support these artist, through the good and the bad.”
