Weird Al Parodies Lorde, Releases Video For “Foil”

Weird Al promised the internet eight straight days of new music videos, and this afternoon the third consecutive clip made its world premiere on CollegeHumor.

If you were alive and conscious at any point during the back half of 2013 then you no doubt discovered, fell in love with, and eventually became annoyed by Lorde’s breakout single “Royals.” The pop-and-snap track made the sixteen year old vocalist an international sensation, and now, thanks to Weird Al, it has been given new life in the form of a parody titled “Foil.” Yes, like the stuff you use to make a hat that can block the radio waves the government are using to read our minds. Don’t believe me? Watch this video:

I know Weird Al is not everyone’s favorite funny musician, but I think he has really outdone himself with the material found on his Mandatory Fun LP. “Foil” is one great example, but “Word Crimes” and “Tacky” were solid as well. If you have yet to buy the album, click here and discover all the fun you’ve been missing in your life.
