Marvel Announces Five New Films Through 2019

Remember when the news that Marvel had movies planned through 2028 hit? We now have release dates for five more of those. They are:

July 28, 2017
November 3, 2017
July 6, 2018
November 2, 2018
May 3, 2019

These movies follow Guardians of the Galaxy (August 1), Avengers: Age of Ultron (May 1) and Ant-Man (July 17) next year, and a third installment of Captain America (May 6, 2016) with another yet-to-be-named film in 2016 (possibly Doctor Strange). Thor 3 and Avengers 3 are also coming, with a Guardians sequel being a good bet.

After that, it’s all speculation and rumors. Perhaps that oft-demanded Black Widow film will finally be announced, or possibly a stand-alone Hulk movie. Carol Danvers, she of the Ms. Marvel and Captain Marvel guises, has also been rumored to get her own film, as has the Black Panther. If Marvel really wants to take a risk, and given their lack of X-Men, they’ll take a chance on the recently resurgent Inhumans.

As always, stay tuned for details. We’ll be quick to share any news, and there will surely be plenty after next week’s San Diego Comic Con. Will the recent comic upheavals (Falcon is the new Captain America, a woman is the new Thor, Iron Man has a new home and new armor) leak into the big screen?
