Rest In Peace: Skye McCole Bartusiak (1992 – 2014)

Skye McCole Bartusiak, who is probably best known for her roles in The Patriot and Riding In Cars With Boys, has passed away. She was 21.

Bartusiak’s parents broke the news of their daughter’s death to members of the press earlier today. “We lost our girl,” Helen McCole Bartusiak told CNN. “She was a kind and really beautiful girl.” A cause of death has not been determined at this point, but Bartusiak’s mother has commented that she believes her daughter’s long-running bout with epileptic seizures may be responsible. She worries the actress “had a seizure and choked and nobody was there.” Autopsy results will not be available for some time.

The first time the majority of the world ever laid eyes on Skye McCole Bartusiak was during her small role in ABC’s late 1990s mini-series, Storm Of The Century. Her other credits include Firestarter: Rekindled, Against the Ropes, Boogeyman, a recurring role on FOX’s 24 and several TV guest appearances. Her last screen appearance was in the low-budget 2012 thriller Sick Boy.

Rest in peace, Skye. You are already missed.
