Marvel Keeping ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’ Post-Credit Scene A Secret

If you’ve seen a Marvel film or two in recent years you probably are aware of their fun little post-credit scenes they like to include after all of the credits have rolled by. They sometimes use the opportunity to reveal part of a future plot or they simply use it for a bit of extra laughter. Either way, we have all been trained to sit until the very end of the credits in order to see what’s at the end.

Guardians Of The Galaxy is currently open for pre-screen viewings before its release date of August 1. Being a Marvel movie, one would expect it to have the post-credit scene, but to the disappointment of fans it turns out there is no extra scene. Not yet, anyway. According to James Gunn none of the press screenings will include the scene. It won’t be shown until the movie officially hits theaters August 1. You can read what he had to say below.

One bit of business for those of you going to the premiere tonight: There WILL be a tag at the end of the credits on Guardians of the Galaxy, but it won’t be playing tonight, just as it hasn’t been playing on the press screenings. It’s something we’re saving for people who go see the movie on the first day in theaters around the world.

Though I can imagine some people who are making it into the early screenings are a little disappointed with this news, as someone who is excited to see the movie I am happy to know that it’s less likely the post-credit scene will be spoiled for me before I see it myself.
