UTG Premiere: Kyle Cox – “Never Looking Back”

We have spent a good portion of July introducing you to a new generation of talent that we feel will soon be dominating headlines worldwide. We’ve featured hard rock, pop, and rap before today, and can now add rising singer-songwriters to the list as well.

Kyle Cox may not be a household name just yet, but I have all the confidence in the world that he will win his way into your heart before the day is out. His new album, The Plan, The Mess, offers listeners a collection of soulful, heartfelt songs that touch on everything from life to love and all the madness that ensues in the day to day events of someone trying to figure it all out. That record may not hit stores until September 30, but Kyle has agreed to let us share one song – the beautiful “Never Looking Back” – which you can now stream at the end of this post.

There are a million people with acoustic guitars and a pocket full of hooks walking the planet today, but none of them offer anything like what Kyle Cox is delivering with his music in 2014. He has been featured in American Songwriter Magazine five separate times, including being the only songwriter in the history of the magazine to have won the American Songwriter Lyric Contest twice. More importantly, The Plan, The Mess is one of the most enjoyable listening experiences I have had all year, and I am willing to bet anyone who enjoys “Never Looking Back” will feel the same.

We will bring you more on Kyle Cox and the availability of The Plan, The Mess in the weeks ahead. For now, comment below and let us know your thoughts on “Never Looking Back.”
