Primus To Release New Album In October

Funk metal band Primus announced that they will be releasing a new album this year on October 21. The currently untitled record will  be their follow-up to Green Naugahyde that was released back in 2011. Bassist/vocalist Les Claypool has stated that the theme of the upcoming record will be Willy Wonka-oriented songs that they interpreted at an Oakland, CA New Year’s show.

Check out the album announcement from Grimey’s New & Preloved Music Instagram after the break.

This announcement comes just a week after drummer Tim ‘Herb’ Alexander suffered a heart attack which resulted in open heart surgery. Alexander is luckily now in full recovery mode according to a Facebook post on the band’s page.
