Bright Light Bright Light Opening Elton John’s US Tour

Elton John will be coming to the US for his North American tour this September and, until now, the opener spot had gone unlisted. Our hats are tipped to Welsh electro-pop act Bright Light Bright Light for winning that spot. John joined him in the studio to sing on “I Wish We Were Leaving” off his new album Life Is Easy, but the two haven’t actually performed it together. Now it looks like they may get that chance.

“I’m taking him on tour with me in the summer because I want him to get him some exposure, as he’s not on a major label and does everything himself,” Elton John told British newspaper The Independent. “I have a friend for life now, and I would like to see him sell millions of records and be very popular. We’ll see how it goes, but if I can help him along the way without spoiling his journey, I’d love to do it.”

Elton John’s first US date is September 17 at Washington’s Spokane Arena and will see him traveling across the states until it ends on October 6.
