Nicki Minaj Streams “Anaconda,” Teases Official Video

Now that the initial controversy over Nicki Minaj‘s latest single has begun to die off it’s time to experience the song behind the cover art that pissed off parents and conservatives worldwide.

Using samples from Sir Mix-A-Lot’s “Baby Got Back” as its backbone, “Anaconda” finds Nicki Minaj toeing the line between street-ready raps and radio-ready song structure. It’s a filthy, quick-tongued ode to everything in Nicki’s world, wrapped around samples everyone and their grandmother knows by heart. I’m not sure if I love it, or if I simply love the recycled take on Mix-A-Lot’s classic, but either way I cannot stop listening. You can stream “Anaconda” below:

In addition to sharing the official audio, Nicki has released a teaser for her “Anaconda” music video. This may not surprise you, but butts play a big role. Check it out:

No word yet on when the video for “Anaconda” will be released, but I can almost guarantee that shortly after it debuts, Buzzfeed (and/or MTV) will post the 15 most booty-licious moments from the clip in eye-popping gif form for the world to enjoy. Stay tuned.
