Listen to Avi Buffalo’s New Single “Memories Of You”

On September 9, Avi Buffalo will drop their first album in four years, At Best Cuckold, on Sub Pop and then hit the road to tour in support of the release. We first got word of this along with the album’s excellent lead single and opening track, “So What,” but now we get a deeper glimpse into the record with single “Memories Of You,” which you can stream after the jump.

This time around, Avi Zahner-Isenberg’s California band takes a bolder approach with Revolver-like psychedelic spirals and light, high-pitched vocals that sound like a Thee More Shallows deep cut. It’s a new style for the group, but it works well. Since “So What” focused on lo-fi, poppier structures pretty unfamiliar on the last album and “Memories Of You” carries on in that vein, it looks like At Best Cuckold is shaping up to be an exciting new sound for Avi Buffalo.
