UTG Album Premiere: Living Room – ‘Moonchaser’

Warning: New, highly-addictive audio ahead…

Every so often an artist comes along that knocks me on my ass from the moment their first single reaches my ears. It’s a rare treat when such an act rises from the overwhelming abyss known as the music underground, and when it does we do everything in our power to bring their efforts to your attention. With that in mind, prepare to fall in love with a group known as Living Room.

On August 19, Living Room will release a new full-length titled Moonchaser through Chicago based Jetsam-Flotsam Records. The record was recorded, mixed, and mastered by John Meredith at The Mollusk, which alone should be reason enough to listen, but if you’re one of those people who need to know about the music first, then I encourage you to imagine a combination of Braid and You Blew It! Yeah, they’re that good. Click below and stream Moonchaser to grasp just how great these guys really are.

If you like what you hear and you want to show your support for great indie rock, click here and pre-order Moonchaser on vinyl. Living Room have a slew of shows coming up as well. Here’s where you can find them in the weeks ahead:

AUG 11 – Chicago, IL @ Subterranean
AUG 13 – Minot, ND @ Laughterhouse V
AUG 20 – Las Vegas, NV @ House Of Wonk
AUG 23 – San Antonio, TX @ The 1011 w/ Vetter Kids
AUG 24 – Houston, TX @ The Summit w/ Vetter Kids
AUG 25 – New Orleans, LA @ Circle Bar w/ Vetter Kids

August is not typically known as a time for great melancholy records, but every track on Moonchaser makes me want to simultaneously fall in love and have my heart shattered. It’s a deeply moving effort that stands out in a year littered with emotionally compelling releases, and anyone who chooses to skip even a single song will only be doing themselves a disservice. Living Room are the future.
