Matty Mullins Announces Debut Solo Album, Streams Lead Single

Memphis May Fire‘s Matty Mullins is now joining the ranks of his fellow musicians as a frontman who goes out on their own to work on a solo project. Earlier today he announced that he will be releasing his debut solo album next month through the label his band is currently signed with, Rise Records. In addition to the announcement, he released the first single which is titled “My Dear.” give the song a listen by taking a look below the jump.

While I do enjoy the song, it’s something that sounds like it could easily be on a MMF record. Other artists make an effort to have a different sort of sound on their solo work, but it seems that Matty is comfortable singing a certain way. There’s no shame in that, it’s just not quite as exciting an endeavor as I was hoping for. We will have to see what else he has in store for fans when the rest of the tracks are released.

His self-titled effort will officially hit stores September 23. If you do like what you hear, pre-orders are already available for purchase. You can pick up a bundle by heading on over to MerchNow. Digital pre-orders are also available through iTunes.
