UTG Premiere: Adage – ‘Defined’ EP

With the exception of five or six bands, the world of radio-ready rock and roll has been incredibly underwhelming in recent years. Most bands seem to have no problem finding a way to reach large audiences, but very few have mastered the art of developing a career that can be sustained – if not built upon – for many years to come. Adage are still a young band, but their debut EP gives us hope that a bright, lasting career may be on the horizon.

Last month, one of the several hundred pitches to roll through our inbox featuring bands no one on staff recognized was for a fast-rising rock group known as Adage. Their name told us nothing about their sound, but for one reason or another we decided to spin their debut EP to see what our friends at Pavement Music had sent our way. By the time that first encounter with the record came to an end at least half our team had been converted to full time Adage fans, and I think a few more were transformed as the record spun several more times in the days that followed. Now, we all back Adage, and it gives us great pleasure to host the world premiere of their Defined EP. You can stream the album, in full, below:

Adage could very well be the future of modern rock, and I would welcome their reign. They play a lot of shows, so click here and find out when they will be in a city near you.
